Antarctica Dental & Medical Conference Review
By Dr Darren Tite (OMFS, QLD)
Dr Darren Tite and his wife Sue Tite recently joined Unconventional Conventions in Antarctica for a dental and medial conference.
Here’s their review:
“The visit to Antarctica with Unconventional was beyond our expectations. We were a tiny bit anxious prior to departure that the ‘white-out scenery’ may be underwhelming, seeing ice and bergs day after day. The reality was that the ice presented a perfect backdrop and offset to a multitude of colours seen both through and adjacent to ice, with picture-postcard images arising from dawn to dusk and throughout the night.
Of course, the up-close encounters with wildlife only confirmed the fact that this is a paradise for both nature lovers and photographers of all ages.
The formal conference sessions were well presented, considerately timetabled, and covered a wide range of topics, that would be of interest to practitioners of all backgrounds. The sessions are interactive and quite often become the stimulus to interesting discussions between Practitioners that would otherwise rarely congregate in the same room.
Travelling with other Practitioners provides a great opportunity to interact with people at various stages in their careers outside of a work setting. We met some very interesting people and these chance exchanges continue to educate and challenge our thoughts on topics beyond the routine CPD content. Also, should you desperately need to vent some professional angst, then you’re in like-minded company!
We would highly recommend travelling to Antarctica with Unconventional Conventions. You won’t regret it.”
There are currently only 10 cabins remaining on the Antarctica 2020 conference. We will not be returning to Antarctica in 2021.
Registrations close on 30 October 2019.
