You smell the dust stirred up by all those hooves, you hear the cacophony of lowing, expectantly you watch as thousands of wildebeest mill on the riverbank – which one will be the bravest (or is it the most stupid?) and start the crossing. Suddenly, a couple of beasts breakaway, heading to the edge and then you are overwhelmed by the whole event – thousands of animals, one after the other, careening down the bank, plunging into the water, struggling against the rush of the river, pushing their way across and pouring up the bank closest to you. This IS the “greatest natural show on earth”.

Live a lifetime dream and join us for this, and so much more – the spectacular scenery, the enthralling game viewing, the fascinating culture – on Unconventional Conventions’ Serengeti conference safari.

Our Serengeti convention embodies every vision you’ve ever had of a classic African safari. Think bounteous wildlife, luxurious lodges and timeless sun-kissed lands. We have selected two of Africa’s prime game viewing sites – Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park – for this conference. The geography of Ngorongoro, a UNESCO world-heritage site, creates the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa.  To top that off, we have planned the timing and location within the spectacular Serengeti National Park to maximise our chances of seeing the Great Migration – the greatest natural show on Earth.

Pre Tour.

Dates

Zanzibar – it’s every bit as exotic as the name implies. Think powder-white islands ringed by a turquoise sea, wooden dhows bobbing at their moorings and palm trees swaying in the sultry breeze. Our pre-conference tour is the holiday add-on your weary soul needs ahead of our epic adventures on mainland Tanzania. Explore the historic Swahili trading hub of Stone Town, meet the Colobus monkeys of Jozani Forest and claim a patch of sand all to yourself on a day sail through the Zanzibar archipelago.

Join us on this magical trip to the legendary island of Zanzibar and, as they say in Swahili, “HAKUNA MATATA” (no worries).

Post Tour.

Dates

Be front and centre of a real-life Gorillas in the Mist scene on our epic post-conference tour of Uganda. Visit the chimpanzee sanctuary on Lake Victoria’s Ngamba Island, see troops of wild chimps swinging through the jungle at Kibale National Park. Finish your wild-life adventures with a remarkable encounter with mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Finally, pay your respects to genocide victims in Rwanda.
