Prof Gordian Fulde AO

Prof Fulde was Director of Emergency of St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney for 35 years – the longest-serving director of an ED anywhere in Australia. He was the founder of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine. He has been an advocate on a range of public health issues, in particular, the Sydney lock-out laws. He is the author of Emergency Medicine – The Principles of Practice, the definitive textbook on the subject. In 2016 he was named Senior Australian of the Year and in 2017 he was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to emergency medicine as a clinician and administrator, to medical education, and to the community as an advocate for a range of public health issues.

Dr Glenn Rice-McDonald

Dr Glenn Rice-McDonald is a Respiratory and Sleep Physician. Glenn currently works in private practice at The Mater Private Hospital, South Brisbane. He has previously worked as a VMO at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, a Staff Specialist at the Mater Adult Public Hospital, South Brisbane and Chairperson of the Medical Assessment Tribunal at QCOMP. Glenn’s qualifications include MBBS (1987), FRACP (1994), Graduate Diploma in Clinical Epidemiology (1998) and a PhD in Medicine (2004). In addition to Sleep Medicine, his practice covers all aspects of Respiratory Medicine.

A/Prof Shane Hamblin

A/Prof Shane Hamblin is Head of Endocrinology & Diabetes at Western Health and a consultant endocrinologist at Alfred Health, Melbourne. He has honorary academic appointments at the University of Melbourne and Monash University. He is a member of Council of the Endocrine Society of Australia and a member of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee. He is a clinical endocrinologist with extensive experience in diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, pituitary and adrenal disease. He has clinical research interests in type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Prof Ian Meyers OAM

BDSc, FRACDS, FICD, FADI, FPFA

Professor Ian Meyers is a general dental practitioner in Brisbane Australia, and an honorary professor at The University of Queensland School of Dentistry. He has extensive experience in comprehensive patient care, and has a special interest in diagnosis and management of worn and broken down dentition, geriatric and aged care dentistry, adhesive restorative dental materials, fibre-reinforced composites, and the management of patients through minimum intervention dentistry. In 2017 he received the Order of Australia Medal for services to dentistry, to professional associations, and to tertiary education.

Dr Peter Cathro

MDS, PGCert Tert T., PhD

Upon completion of his specialist training in Endodontics (1994), Peter worked as an endodontist in full time private practice in Melbourne and then in Auckland. Peter has returned to Otago University and is an Associate Dean (Clinical) and Head of General Practice. In addition to teaching undergraduate and post-graduate students, Peter has lectured extensively at international conferences and given numerous endodontic hands-on courses throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Peter completed his PhD in microbiology and his current research interests are in microbial adaptation and endodontic applications of hydroxyapatite. Peter is a reviewer for five peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Luke Villata

Luke Villata graduated in dentistry from the University of Sydney in 1984. Luke worked in private practice in Hobart, Tasmania, for 2 years before heading to London. He worked in London until 1993 when he moved to Aarhus Denmark to study Periodontics. Luke graduated in 1996 and obtained his specialist registration in NSW in 1997.

Luke has worked in specialist practice since 1997. Luke has also been involved in teaching at the University of Sydney and Charles Sturt University since 1997 and 2010 respectively. Luke is currently head of the Diploma in Implant Dentistry course which is run from Charles Sturt University. Luke was granted membership of the Royal Australian Society of Dental Surgeon in 2010.

Dr Jayne Ingham

GP in North Lakes, Queensland, involved in education, teaching of GP registrars and medical students from the University of Queensland . She is Chair of GP partners which is a GP network in Metro North Brisbane. She arranges education sessions for GPs with local specialists and on relevant topics and writes the GP partners monthly bulletin.

A/Prof Ralph Audehm

GP in Carlton, Victoria, and is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of General Practice, University of Melbourne. He has had a long-standing interest in the management of chronic conditions in General Practice especially diabetes and heart disease. He teaches medical students, GP registrars and General Practitioners.
