Granite peaks, dense forest and long sandy beaches envelop this vibrant samba-sashaying metropolis that is South America’s liveliest city. On this seven-day convention, stay in the thick of the action on iconic Copacabana Beach and enjoy VIP access to some of the top attractions. Visit the Christ the Redeemer statue before the gates open, play beach volleyball with the locals, and sip caipirinhas in the shadow of Sugarloaf Mountain. Hone your Brazilian cooking skills on a tropical island, wander through one of the world’s biggest urban forests, and lose yourself in the fan-frenzy of a local soccer match.

Iguazu means “big water”. What an understatement. Iguazu Falls is one of the largest waterfalls on the planet, dumping 1.5 million litres of water over 275 individual cascades every second. So awestruck was Eleanor Roosevelt when she visited Iguazu, the late first lady reportedly exclaimed “Poor Niagara!. On our Iguazu Falls tour – exploring both the Argentine and Brazilian sides – you too will be in awe. Venture to the top of the Devil’s Throat and stare into the mist-shrouded abyss, feel the thundering power of the falls on a boat ride to the base of the cascades, and enjoy VIP access from your exclusive accommodation inside the national park.

There are few landmarks in the world that provoke as much awe and intrigue as Machu Picchu. The lost city of the Incas, swept high in the mist-shrouded Andes and ringed by mountain sentinels, is a staggering sight to behold. Discover the secrets and curiosities of this ancient Incan citadel on our post-conference tour. Arrive in the gateway town of Aguas Calientes in style aboard a glass-domed train, or jump off early and complete the final section of the Inca Trail on foot. Brush up on Incan history on a walking tour of Cusco, learn the art of traditional Andean weaving, and dine in a 500-year-old chapel.

Carbon Offsets.

All travellers with Unconventional Conventions are now required to offset international flights with carbon credits.

The funds raised from the South America 2021 conference will be invested in the Gold Standard Qori Q’oncha project in Peru which provides improved cookstoves made from local materials that are more efficient and therefore reduce CO2 emissions and deforestation. These cookstoves are also healthier and safer for families.
