LECTURE TOPICS
Gynaecology – Dr Harvey Ward, Head of Department OBGYN Coffs Harbour Health Campus and Director, Centre for Women’s Reproductive Care, Coffs Harbour
Join us on this small group tour of Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon, the last remaining great Himalayan Kingdom. Be awed by snow-capped peaks and lush green valleys; admire the fabulous monasteries and incredible fortress-like dzongs; appreciate the beauty of traditional clothing and religious dance spectacles; learn about the deeply held Buddhist beliefs; and best of all, meet the charming, fun-loving people of Bhutan where Gross National Happiness is more important than Gross Domestic Product.
Please note: There are optional walking/hiking opportunities during this tour which require a moderate degree of fitness.
There is so much more to Nepal than trekking. Join our pre-conference tour to discover the medieval city squares of Kathmandu and Patan, joining Tibetan Buddhist pilgrims on a spiritual stroll around centuries-old stupas and monasteries. In chilled-out Pokhara, admire the panorama of the snow-capped Himalayas reflected in a tranquil lake. And, then experience the jungle of Chitwan National Park for safaris on elephant, canoe and jeep to view some extraordinary wild-life including the chance to spot a majestic royal Bengal tiger.
For the fit and enthusiastic, spend a few extra days based in Paro doing daily hikes to some more out of the way places, soaking up the spectacular scenery, watching local life and enjoying the serenity of this beautiful part of the world.
